Article Details

Last Updated

Applies to
WinSPC 7.2, WinSPC 8.0

To estimate the database storage requirements for your WinSPC database:
  1. Multiply your average subgroup size by 51. (E.g. 5x51=255)
  2. Multiply your average percentage of subgroups in violation by 66.  (E.g. 2%x66=1.32)
  3. Multiply your average number of tag values per subgroup by 17.4. (E.g. 4x17.4=69.6)
  4. Add the results from the above three steps together. (E.g. 255+1.32+69.6=325.92)
  5. Add 181.88 to the sum from step 4. (E.g. 181.88+325.92=507.80)
  6. Multiply the sum from step 5 by the average number of subgroups you collect per day. (E.g. 507.80x10,000=5,078,000)
  7. Divide the product from step 6 by 1,000,000. (E.g. 5,078,000/1,000,000=5.078.)
The answer you get from step 7 is the MB of disk space you can expect to be consumed per day of WinSPC operation.
