How do I configure a WinSPC Navigator button to open a webpage? |

Each collection plan in WinSPC allows an administrator to link up to four documents to a series of buttons that are accessible in the Navigator screen and during data collection.
To setup a Navigator button that opens to a specific web page:
- Set the default viewer for the Navigator button that will be used:
- Log into WinSPC as the 'admin' user.
- Select 'Tools' > 'Navigator Setup' from the drop down menu.
- Click on the button that you want to use.
- Delete (clear) any text in the 'Viewer' field. When the 'Viewer' field is blank, WinSPC will use the Windows configured default application for the file type associated with the button (i.e., it could use Microsoft Word as the viewer for .doc files).
- Click 'OK' to save the change.
- Create a new HTML file (with a '.html' extension) and place this file in a location that is accessible to all WinSPC clients. One possible location to use is the "Collection Plan Docs" folder located in the WinSPC remote directory.
- Edit the file and add the following line of HTML text:
{meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="1; URL=HTTP://WWW.GOOGLE.COM" /} For the above line, change the URL to redirect to the desired website and change "{" to a "<" and "}" to a ">".
- Locate the Collection Plan that you want to open the webpage through a button, right click on it, and select 'Properties' to open the Collection Plan Properties.
- Select the 'Navigator' tab and click on the desired button. If you are prompted to clear the button, select 'No', as you want to select a new file.
- Browse to the HTML file created above and click on 'Open'.
- Click 'OK' to save the collection plan setup.
When the user clicks the button in the Navigator with this collection plan selected or in data collection for this collection plan, the webpage will be opened in the default web browser on the computer.
