How are Variable Analyzer's visualizations related to Data Collection's visualizations and Variable Setup?

Variable Analyzer is an analysis tool. It is independent of your Data Collection view and your Varialbe's configuration settings. However, the Variable Analyzer will initially take the settings that you configure within your Variable as the defaults to set the Calculated Control Limits that are generated when you open a Variable Analyzer window. As these control limits are calculated when you open the Variable Analyzer, you can change the settings in the upper band in the Variable Analyzer window (see Figure 1) to play ‘What If’ games with your statistics and control limits. Changes you make to the upper band of the Variable Analyzer window will not affect your data, data collection windows, or Variable Setup. The control limits and statistics will reflect your currently enabled data filtering. vas.png
