Inheritance is an administration object behavior (introduced in WinSPC 8.0) where the object not only affects other items at that object's level, but also affects other objects that are in the lower levels beneath that object.

Two of the new administrative objects in WinSPC 8.0, Control Test Template links and List links, both exhibit this inheritance behavior.  For example, if you create a Control Test Template link in a Part/Process folder, all Parts/Processes in that folder (as well as all subfolders of that folder) also receive that Control Test Template link.  This allows for easy administration of these features.

The object inheritance can also be blocked if necessary.  This prevents objects further down in the inheritance chain from being associated with that inherited item/object.  A user might block inheritance for a Control Test Template link in a folder because the tests and triggers in the template should not be used for any parts in that folder.
